Blogging Makes Good Marketing Sense
It seems like everyone has a Web presence these days. A blog, Twitter or a Facebook page. But for business owners it isn't true. According to a survey done in 2008 by Warrillow & Co, only about 41 percent have their own websites. If they can't manage a website they likely don't have a blog.
I'm sure you've seen trivial and useless blogs but there are plenty of fantastic resources. A blog is a method you can use to connect to your demographic. Provide a lot of information and/or resources and you've gained a new friend.
Another great reason for a blog is that search engines can pick up on words and phrases. The more you update , the better chance you have of getting and keeping more visitors.
Tips for the beginner blogger:
1. Read blogs - Study other blogs, see how they do it and how they speak.
2. Don't sell - don't do a hard sell. give information and subtley mention your products. Bettet yet, just have a link in the link area.
3. Don't stress out - take it slow. In the beginning try to add 1 post per week.
4. Keep it brief - don't go on and on. Try to be personal and friendly but keep it professional.
